Professor Eman Al-Shamery selected the top 9 students for 9 machine learning technology topics. Each one has to make report about his topic and present it with 9 students of his choice.
My friends Sajjad Hasanien and Sajjad Abdel-Moniem were among the students who were selected, and they both chose me in their team, but I chose the tech π

βDiscover Weeklyβ uses machine learning models to curate personalised music playlists based on user preferences.
The recommendation system of Spotify platform use 3 machine learning models (Collaborative Filtering, Natural Language Processing, RAW Audio) to create music playlists based on favorites of the user.
The team have to fully explain the technology in a report and must contain section about security, and submit it within 2 weeks. Then, the time to prepare the presentation. Presentation time is 30min maximum. π
Abdel-Moniem and I started thinking about who could present creative explain, talk flexibly, and speech without noticeable flaws. After all, our significant personal is who commits π€ Though they've limited skills, they're most suitable for our vision, so we invited and let them know our style.
To efficiently manage the task, we divided the report into several sections, with 2 to 3 students assigned to each, except for the introduction and conclusion, which were handled separately.
Abdel-Moniem and I took on leadership roles. I concentrated on researching, organising information, and enhancing presentation skills, while he followed up on our colleagues' progress.
I designed presentation after researching the entire technology and its algorithms, with Abdel-Moniem assisting me in identifying key points to share resources with the group. Ayat M. focused on finding figures, diagrams, and photos, while Moamel S. collected foundational information, such as when the technology was released and how many users are currently using it. Each member was also responsible for researching their assigned section and explaining it individually.
Every week, we held training sessions and discussed the report daily, either online or on campus. Maintaining flow and continuity in the speech was crucial, ensuring the audience stayed engaged and the students delivered effectively. To make the introduction and conclusion impactful, I proposed structuring them as part of a cohesive narrative. At the end of each section, we included a thought-provoking question or key piece of information, which the next section would answer or build upon, keeping the listeners hooked until the very end. Additionally, I recommended Hussein present the technical part, given his strong explanation skills and his ability to use real-world examples.
Cognitively, we were well-prepared and appeared confident, though we were a bit nervous on the inside. Abdel-Moniem kicked things off with great composure and focus, setting the tone for the rest of the team. Everyone gave me a positive impression, especially Aya and Zainab, due to their impressive skills, engaging presentations, and clear explanations. Ahmed, in particular, surprised me with his performance. I concluded by presenting different perspectives on AI to spark curiosity and open up new questions for the audience.

Everything contributed to my growth, starting with the topic research, leading the teamwork, and designing the presentation. I realized that the key factor that makes a difference in teamwork is the team itself. Good people with moderate skills are more effective than individuals with high skills but poor teamwork.π€
